This is a lovely,friendly,small family hotel,very close(3 mins.walk)to the old town square.
The rooms are quite spacious, well equipt, clean and very well kept.
We ate in the hotel restaurant several times, because the food is very good and not expensive.
The service is very good.
We would certainly stay here again and I'll recommend this hotel to my friends and family.
- Close to all the attractions of Prague , yet in a very peaceful setting.
- On one of the mornings we had to wait a while for breakfast, because there were not enough tables

The Hastel is easy to find, well situated and inexpensive. It is pretty much what we expected for the price. The room was small and basic and the aircon did not work but there was a lift and the staff were pleasant. Dining room service was indifferent.
Would we recommend it? Yes for a short stay.

We greatly enjoyed our stay in Prague and were impressed with the Hotel Hastal
- Comfortable beds and excellent breakfast. Very warm welcome on arrival
- Very noisy for the people on 6th floor on our first night. Not enough storage space for cases on day of departure

This hotel is in an excellent location in Old Town Prague. It is clean, the rooms are relatively large and the restaurant in the hotel is very good.
- The location was excellent. The rooms were large and well appointed.

This hotel was as good as I remembered from three years previous. I will definately be recommending it!
- Shaded sun garden, no where to relax.

Just a nice little hotel. Clean, quiet, calm and located in a beautiful location; with just a few steps, very few, you can enjoy much of what Prague offers its visitors. We communicated with the staff in English, but especially the gentlemen and ladies at the reception always made an effort, to please us, to speak a little in Italian. Although initially disappointed for not having had the room with a view of the characteristic square as advertised (so much so that we asked to change it), just after the first half day we were very happy to keep the room that had been assigned to us. First because understandably not all the rooms can overlook the fateful square, second because we discovered that, since ours was a corner room, on the fifth floor overlooking the courtyard, it was very quiet, bright and with two windows on two different walls which allowed excellent air circulation so it was not necessary to use air conditioning. The extremely comfortable bed allowed us to fully recover our strength for the next day's tour de force and the mini bar often proved to be a useful pre-sleep refresher. The normal price is not very cheap. Fortunately we were able to enjoy a special offer in force during the period of our stay (first week of August 2008). However, we will certainly choose this hotel for future visits to Prague and we will equally certainly recommend it to all relatives, friends and tourists in general. We want to thank both the hotel staff and ATHOS TRAVEL, the agency through which we booked and which proved to be serious, present and extremely efficient in organizing taxi transfers to and from the airport.
- Perfect location, friendly helpful and cooperative staff, welcoming atmosphere.,
- The IKEA-type furniture (desk and wardrobe) were perfectly functional but assembled without fully tightening the screws and nuts, "shaking" with every touch, giving the sensation of seasickness. It's a shame to lower the quality of the hotel due to these easily avoidable shortcomings. Although the breakfast was more than sufficient, the mini croissants and pains chocolat were tempting for everyone and they ran out very quickly without being replaced. However, if you got up late you didn't notice the small inconvenience. There was only 1 remote control for the air conditioning, which was kept at the front desk. Having to call the Receptionist every time we wanted to turn the air conditioner on or off would have been quite inconvenient or even unthinkable. We have been lucky. The climate was very friendly to us. The room was well ventilated with a double window and in any case we immediately learned to manage our climatic independence by climbing onto a chair to turn the machine on and off manually.

A close-to-perfect stay. The hotel is perfectly situated between the Old Town Square and the Jewish quarter and we were able to walk everywhere! The room was clean with a nice view of the city. The front desk staff, especially in the morning, was knowledgeable and helpful.

I love sightseeing that´s why I decided to visit major cities in central Europe. My time in Prague was just splendid. I´m glad I have chosen the Hotel Hastal Prague Old Town*** and I can say that it really met my expectations.
It´s right in the city centre with all those beautiful historical buildings around. The room was nice, well-furnished and clean and the view was breathtaking!
The staff was very polite and helpful eventhough their English was not perfect.
The hotel offers buffet breakfast, and for a 3star hotel, the choice was quite wide, it included the basics such as eggs, ham, cheese and bread as well as fresh fruit, yoghurt and ceral and other healthier things. The buffet changed slightly everyday so there was variety.
I´ll make sure to book a room there again next time I go to Prague.
- very nice rooms
breakfast
friendly staff
Mario Celso van Eyken
nice area, excelent location, friedly staff.
I recommend and would stay again.
- location is excellent, just few minutes from old town by foot.
hotel building is charming, with old but nice rooms.
- room for improvement in breakfast selection.

Hotel Hastal was right where we wanted to be. Most of the staff were also very kind. We did have a weird thing happen after registering and getting settled we were asked to change rooms. Something to do with the air conditioning needing to be repaired (it was working fine). The rooms we were shown were smaller and one was right next to the elevator. Eventually, they said we could return to our original room, but it was a very unpleasant beginning after almost 24 hours of travel. Also, our first request for a wake up call was ignored. Fortunately, we woke up.

As Rick Steve mentioned in his guide, the walls are thin. The double room was small with a view of the back. We smelled cooking from the kitchen down below, although, that was not that too bad! The bathroom was very small with only a shower but it was filthy. Yes, we paid a discounted rate but that doesn't mean we should get the worst room in the house! The cleaning staff were all sour-faced. They do not smile or greet you as you pass them in the morning. Buffet breakfast was supposed to be from 7:00 - 10:30am but when we went down for breakfast at 9am, most of the offerings were gone and they do not refill. Once a particular offering is gone, they remove even the container. This happened on the three mornings we were there! We have been all over central Europe at various hotels serving buffet breakfasts, and Hastal is the worse and stingy with their foods! Rick Steves should remove them from his guide as it is a total misrepresentation of the hotel services! Overall, the reception staff were not very helpful and their lack of command of the English language made them come across as antagonistic and rude. After one or two questions, we felt they were not very willing to help.
- The location is quiet and an easy walk to the touristy Old Town Square and inexpensive neighborhood mom and pop stores are around the corner for your daily necessities.
- Paid parking is 10 minutes walk away under a departmental store and you cannot take the car in and out without incurring additional cost .

- great location, staff, etc.
- We stayed one week and would have appreciated a little variety in the breakfast menu. The exact same thing every day gets old. How about some fruit?

I travelled with my mother, we found it very well placed, close to everything and lit up enough in the nights to feel safe enough walking around. Very clean, good value for money

And hotel was perfectly quiet and calm (front of hotel, nich church and neighborhood,so peaceful). After all day walking,i could have a nice and deep sleep for next day. Very convinience location for everything!!! Staff were very kind and responsible.

Very good location as just on the boarder of the Jewish Quatre and the Old Town.
Room was clean & tidy, though bed not very comfy but bearable, (we stayed Mon-Fri).
Breakfast is good, selection of breads, cheese, cereals & meats, coffee etc.
Didn't eat there for other meals but recommend Club Architech to eat especially if you're vegi & a non-smoker as they have a non-smoking room.
Recommend arranging pick up from the airport with Athos as very good service & the driver will arrange when you want picking up for your flight home.
Overall a ggod price for a great located hotel.

This hotel really exceeded our expectations! We booked this hotel thinking it was really cheap and seemed to be in a good location, and was hoping we made the right choise. And it turned out it was the perfect hotel for our weekend break in Prague! It's within walkingdistance to all the main attractions and the old Town Square. It was clean, modern and the staff were very friendly. We would definately stay there if we went to Prague again!
- Clean, modern, quiet and the staff are very friendly. Very good location.
- If anything, maybe the breakfast is a bit basic, but still ok.

Really enjoyed my stay in Hotel Hastal. Helpful staff, in particular Josef. The location was excellent in the beautiful Old Town and very close to everything. Lovely quiet area. Room very clean and cosy. It was also very helpful that Athos Travel picked us up and dropped us back to airport. Only bad point for us was we had no bath tub; the rooms with bath tubs were already occupied. Prague is beautiful and we had a wonderful time. Thank you.
- Location, friendly staff, clean rooms.

The location is great -- it is close to very thing and very quiet too. The staff are very friendly and efficient. But the rooms are not well sound proved. As long as you get quiet neighbours, it should not be a big problem.

Thank you for our excellent stay in your hotel! I enjoyed the hotel and the location, which was very handy. I also liked the communication provided between your agency and us; it made traveling much smoother. I was also glad that we utilized your transportation from the airport as Prague was a little complicated as far as finding places. I would definitely use your service again and already have recommended you to co-workers!

I think it was a success finding this hotel: it is perfectly located to visit the city without using public transport. Despite its central location, it is very quiet. The rooms are very clean. The breakfast is correct and the friendliness of the staff is noteworthy. Except for the detail of the extra bed, which frankly could be improved, everything was perfect. It is a recommendable hotel in all aspects.
- central and quiet location at the same time. Great value for the price.

(Young couple),
The hotel was OK. The best part, the breakfast buffet. The food was good and it is included in the hotel price. The worst part, the room was not too clean, towels and bed linens supposedly only got changed every 3 days. We stayed 4 days, and our towels and bed sheets were never changed. And, the hotel room was noisy, we could here the plumbing from rooms upstairs like someone was flushing the toilet or showering right in our bedroom, too much noise from the plumbing. But, not everything was bad. The staff was nice and the hotel had a very good location.
- Breakfast was great
Staff was very nice
Ideal location
- Room not very clean, towels and bedsheets never got changed
Too noisy from plumbing, toilets and showers in other rooms upstairs could be heard too much
Somewhat expensive for what it was, more like a 2 and a half star hotel instead of 3 star hotel

Thank you for the good and quick organization of the hotel, especially Ms. Struzková. I will definitely contact you again. There's only one thing I can't explain: taxi-transportation to the airport costs 590 czk, that's fine. Transportation to the main station costs 400 CZK, which is a disproportionate distance from our hotel. I got a taxi myself for 160 czk. I am asking you to give me information, etc. it is better to send to a private Mail address: e.lacko@hispeed.ch Sincere thanks and greetings.
- Pleasant atmosphere, helpful staff
- Breakfast could also include warm food (e.g. eggs). Shampoo and shower gel were missing in the bathroom.

- Beautiful, calm city (excellent weather!). Easy to get around.
Nice hotel, with perfect location. Ecxellent transfer service, with
reasonable prices.
- Hotel room was small, staff has trouble in getting my Diners Club
card work (probably not their fault). The city of Prague itself had too
many tourists in general. We had trouble finding interesting restaurants.
