The Wengen Guide
Wegen, a UNESCO World Heritage Site village located at the foot of the Swiss Mönch (Monk), Jungfrau (Virgin) and Eiger (Giant) mountains and overlooking the Lauterbrunnen Valley in the canton of Bern. It is located at an altitude of 1,274 m a.s.l. and only the railway - Wengernalpbahn leads here.

The kitchen also has a washing machine, electric oven and hob. 4*Chalet Gerbera is a good choice for family or friends accommodation, it is an apartment renovated in 2013, with a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, a living room with a dining area, a flat screen TV, an iPod station and a bathroom. The 3* Hotel Schönegg is also newly renovated, where after a day spent in the mountains, you can have a drink in the bar, relax in the sauna or enjoy the fireplace in the spacious lobby. History of Wengen
The first mention of Wengen dates from 1268, it was an agricultural area, only in the 19th century did tourism begin to develop. Its popularity is increasing with the construction of the Wengernalpbahn cogwheel, which, as already mentioned, is the only access road to the resort.
Transport to Wengen
As already mentioned, Wengen is a place without road transport, so whoever chooses it as their holiday destination must expect that he and all his luggage will be transported by train.

Wengen is a UNESCO monument and that in itself conveys that it is a very interesting location, including the method of transport here. Otherwise, it is a very famous ski resort. Skiing is very popular here and downhill, combined and slalom races are held here. Wengen is also a popular place for hikers.
