History of Wisla
The first settlers came to the territory of today's Wisla at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries. century. They were looking for new pastures for cattle in this area. The city itself begins to develop only in the 19th century. At this time, Wisla also starts to become a popular tourist resort. At the beginning of the 20th century, it was popular not only with ordinary tourists, but also with government officials who liked to spend their summer vacations here. During World War II, the Wisla was annexed to Germany, and after the war it again belonged to Poland. Today, Wisla is still a popular tourist destination for both winter and summer holidays.
