The village, which was first mentioned in a document in 1347, is located directly on the Eurowanderweg E9, the Jakobsweg "Via-Baltica" as well as the old Hanseweg, which invite you to extensive hikes.



For a perfect day at the beach, the well-known Baltic Sea resorts of Rerik and Kühlungsborn as well as the island of Poel are in the immediate vicinity. The historic Hanseatic cities of Wismar and Rostock as well as the state capital Schwerin invite you to take a leisurely stroll through the city. Sports enthusiasts have a variety of options such as cycling, surfing or kite surfing.
