Hotel Astor Kiel by Campanile

• Hotel in the city center with excellent accessibility. Room with a beautiful view of the city and very spacious. Excellent cleanliness and great breakfast.

• The room lacks a minibar or, at least, a refrigerator. At the time of our visit, road reconstruction was taking place in the vicinity of the hotel, so I had to carry things from the garage of the Karstadt department store several hundred meters by hand. When I left, I left a brand new black Geox jacket in the room, which I hung in the closet after arriving in the room. After realizing that my jacket was missing, I immediately called the reception to see if they could find out if the cleaning service had found the jacket and returned it. They asked me for a phone number that they would call me back right away. However, this did not happen. Since we had an overnight stay at the Thomas Spa Hotel in Husum, I called the reception again and was told that they would call me early in the morning. This did not happen again. Since the jacket was not cheap and it was brand new, we decided to return from Husum to the hotel in Kiel and find out the condition of the thing on the spot. After arriving at the hotel, the lady at the reception told us that no jacket was found. She attended to the other guests without a word of apology. Considering that we really travel very often and have some experience with hotels, this surprised us. And especially because it happened in Germany. We think that a hotel of this level should approach the problem differently.
