Transportation to Verbier
Verbier is located in the southwestern part of Switzerland. If you plan to use air transport, the nearest airport can be found in Geneva, from where a two-hour drive awaits you, or it is possible to arrange transport by minibus in the winter season. The road trip from Geneva to Verbier can be considered an experience in itself - you will be driving around the absolutely breathtaking Lac Léman lake. In the town itself, you can get everywhere on foot, but it is possible to use free local buses.
Skiing and other activities in Verbier
The ski area in Verbier is part of the 4 Vallées ski area and together with it the areas of Veysonnaz, Nendaz, Thyon and La Tzoumaz. In total, we can find more than 450 kilometers of pistes here. Right in Verbier we can find more than 30 ski slopes, on which more than 30 lifts and cable cars will take you, there is also a place for the smallest skiers and also modified cross-country trails. Due to the number of important personalities who head to the resort every year, you can count on absolutely impeccable service here. But what most "normal" visitors to Verbier are after is freeride, i.e. the opportunity to ski in the wild, there is even a cable car here that will take you to one of the possible ungroomed routes down the mountain. Another option is to get to the top by helicopter. Rides in the wild are only suitable for very experienced skiers, there is a risk of avalanches, the snow can also cover various crevices into which you can fall, etc. In any case, it is recommended to take these rides with a local guide, of which there are plenty in the city. Due to its layout, the prestigious Freeride World Cup races - Xtreme Verbier - are also held here every year. Other activities that you can do in the city in summer or winter include mountain climbing, paragliding or golf.
