Travel Guide Bol
The bustling resort of Bol or Zlatni Rat is located on the south side of the island of Brac. The town is located below the mountain Vidova Gora and is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Croatia. It is especially famous for its sandy beach Zlatni Rat, which has a unique shape and stretches more than 500 meters into the sea. Almost everyone knows the photo of Zlatni Rat, because it is a very popular photo of almost all tourist catalogs.
Transport
You can get to Brač by ferry from Split, which runs every hour and a half. The ferry ride takes about 60 minutes to the town of Supetar. From here it is necessary to get to Bol either by your own car, taxi or some bus line which provides a connection between Bol and Supetar. There is also a small airport near Bol. If you did not come to Brač by car, you can use the local bus service to explore the island. It connects all major island resorts such as Supetar, Bol, Sumartin, Milna, etc.
Attractions
However, Bol is not just a beach destination. Lovers of various sports will also enjoy themselves here. Both water sports such as windsurfing, kiting or diving, but also lovers of tennis or beach volleyball. During the year, the WTA "Bol Croatia Open" tennis tournament is held on local clay courts. Bol also offers cultural and spiritual life. The magic of old times breathes on you as you walk among the old stone houses or visit more than 600-year-old monastery. You can also make your stay more pleasant if you travel around the island of Brač or if you catch a boat to the adjacent island of Hvar. The so-called "Fishing Nights", which take place every Wednesday during the summer, are also very popular. Local singers play traditional Croatian songs, and many stalls with local souvenirs and food open along the harbor.
Accommodation
In Bol you can choose from all possible types of accommodation: hotels, apartments or holiday houses. For those who like good hotel service, we can recommend the hotel complex Bluesun Hotel Elaphusa or the historic Hotel Kastil. Rentals of the whole house, such as Apartments Villa Sole or House Ivan, are becoming more and more popular.
