Ko Yao Noi Guide
Ko Yao Noi Island is located in Phang Nga Province in the southern part of Thailand between Phuket and Krabi. Together with the neighboring island of Ko Yao Yai, it forms the Ko Yao archipelago. The smaller of the two islands of Ko Yao Noi is nicknamed the "Little Long Island" and is more popular with tourists than its larger neighbor. You will also find better infrastructure here, as well as in a number of accommodation facilities, restaurants and shops. However, Ko Yao Noi is a very peaceful island, so if you like nightlife or shopping, avoid it. There is a peace and calmness on Ko Yao Noi.
Transport
Ko Yao Noi Island can be reached by a small boat from Phuket (Bang Rong Pier), which runs several times a day. Other connections are offered by boat from Krabi (port of Tha Len or Phan Nga). We recommend renting a motorbike around the island itself. It's not too big, you'll get around it in no time.
Activities
Ko Yao Noi Island is for those who want to relax from the surrounding hectic world. The beaches are beautiful to look at, but you can bathe well only in a few of them. The beaches on the east side of the island towards Phuket are shallow with high tide. It is almost impossible to swim here. On the west side towards Krabi, the beaches are a bit better and there are several places where you can swim. However, activities such as yoga, kayaking will fully compensate you for the absence of great swimming. We can also recommend a day trip on a rented boat around the surrounding islands.
Accommodation
Although Ko Yao Noi does not offer as much accommodation capacity as in the vicinity of destinations such as Krabi (Ao Nang) or Phuket, everyone can enjoy themselves here. I can definitely recommend the beautiful resort Koyao Island Resort, located on the west side of the island. You will find here a quality accommodation, but also a good beach for swimming and breathtaking views. Luxury accommodation offers Cape Kudu Hotel. If you prefer cheap, comfortable accommodation, try Cha Bungalow or Namtok Bungalows. From my experience, I can recommend the local restaurant Graden Café & Restaurant. Divine food for a good price.
